Skillbridge Information Series
This Transition Readiness program informational session discusses the DoD SkillBridge Program, which provides an opportunity for transitioning service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service. If you are interested in learning more about this program, you can register for an informational session on Eventbrite.
VA Benefits 101
The Transition Readiness program highlights VA benefits and services to include education, home loan guaranty, healthcare, and insurance. This workshop covers eligibility requirements, how and when to apply, community resources and VA Education and Career Counseling. VA Home Loan Guaranty Program Info Session
The Transition Readiness program holds an informational session about VA home loan guaranties, which are issued to help eligible veterans or service members utilize the VA home loan. For dates and to sign up, please visit TRS’s Eventbrite page.
VA Disability Compensation Info
VA pays a monthly tax-free payment to Veterans who got sick or injured while serving in the military and to Veterans whose service has impacted an existing condition. Warrior Maintenance: Stress Management
The Family Advocacy Program offers Warrior Maintenance: Stress Management every third Tuesday of the month in the MCAS Miramar Base Chapel, intended to reduce multiple health risk behaviors and to enhance multiple domains of well-being. This workshop teaches effective techniques to handle stressors, communicate and overcome challenges that interfere with stress management.
Anger Management, Class 1-8

Spouses
S.T.A.R.S Spouse Transition and Readiness Seminar
This seminar, hosted by the Transition Readiness program is intended to prepare spouses for life beyond the military, discussing family benefits, entitlements, health care, insurance, VA benefits and tips. This 3-hour seminar takes place at The Hub on Wednesdays once per quarter. Tea with Team Building
MCFTB offers “Tea with Team Building” where they bring together spouses who want to connect with other spouses to build community and connections. No purchase is required to attend but all Starbucks items purchased are the responsibility of each person. L.I.N.K.S. Craft and Learn
MCFTB hosts a Craft and Learn workshop every second Friday each month at the Team Building Training Center in building 2273 from 9:30am-11:30am. Paint and Sip Workshop
MCFTB offers a paint and sip workshop for couples! These events take place on Saturdays, with the next two workshops taking place on May 6 and August 5. Only one registration is needed for a couple. Fair Fighting Workshop
The Family Advocacy Program hosts a workshop from 12:30pm-3:30pm in building 2274 Elrod Avenue for couples or individuals to learn effective communication skills, and skills to resolve conflicts and disagreements in relationships. Within My Reach Workshop

Military Families and Dependents
Food Distribution
Every 2nd Thursday of the month from 3:00-5:00pm at the Bob Hope Theater, San Diego MOM will be distributing food bags for military families. Please note that this event is while supplies last and is first come, first served.
L.I.N.K.S. Para Padres de Marines

Special Education Series: Crafting IEP Goals
Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) offers a Special Education Series where EFMP Attorney Karen Taylor uses her expertise in Special Education law to help families navigate Special Education with schools, discussing the processes of creating, implementing and assessing IEP goals for your children.

F.I.N.D.E.R.S. (Friendly -Innovative -Networking -Diverse- Empower- Resilient -Support) is a friendly support group for military youth to get together and feel comfortable sharing experiences and challenges of the military lifestyle. It will provide a safe and welcoming environment for youth to develop lifelong skills. This event will take place at the Team Building Training center in building 2273 from 4:30pm-6:00pm. Semper Fit HITT Course for Small-Unit Leaders
Semper Fit offers a 4-day long training course to educate and coach Marines to be efficient PT leaders to improve performances and lower risks for injuries.
