Buffalo Alley Trail Run™
Join us for a 10K trail run and a 2K kids trail run in the northwestern foothills of Camp Pendleton. The 10K course offers a challenging hill climb, rolling hills along the ridgeline, and scenic views of surrounding mountains and meadows. The 2K kids run is a flat trail run.
Buffalo Alley is the last race of the 2024 Tactical Triad. All runners who have completed Heartbreak Ridge, Run to the Radar, and Buffalo Alley, will receive a custom Tactical Triad Medal after finishing.
WHO
Now open to everyone.
- Those without Base Access must arrange to be escorted in on race morning by an authorized base patron.
- Please do not register for the run unless this requirement has been coordinated.
- Patrons who do not make arrangements to enter Camp Pendleton will be turned away and no refund will be issued.

SCHEDULE
7:30 am – Check-In and Venue Open
8:15am – 2K Kid's Run Start (ages 6-12)
8:40am – 10K Run Start (ages 13+)
AWARDS
This race will not be timed. We will have a running clock for you to check your time as you cross the finish line. Awards will be given for the top 3 M/F finishers

DIRECTIONS
Las Pulgas Entrance
From I-5, take the Las Pulgas exit and head east towards the Las Pulgas gate.
Continue east four miles on Las Pulgas then turn left at Basilone Road.
Head north five miles to reach Camp Horno (53 Area).
Main Gate Entrance
From I-5 Northbound, take the Camp Pendleton exit.
Enter the main gate and continue on Vandegrift for eight miles until you reach Basilone Road.
Turn left and proceed north 11 miles to reach Camp Horno (53 Area).
RULES
- 13+ age limit for 10K.
- 6-12 years for Kid's Run.
- No headphones/earbuds allowed.
- No strollers due to rough terrain.
- Event is held rain or shine (unless deemed unsafe).
- Pendleton Races has the right to modify the course if necessary for safety or base training exercises.
- Course closes at 10:45am.
